Smoothies are an easy way to cram more greens into your diet and keep your skin hydrated. Using frozen chopped bananas gives this smoothie a deliciously creamy texture. For an additional protein boost you could add a scoop of vanilla protein powder.
Broccoli and spinach are packed with antioxidants including vitamins C and carotenoids to protect our skin from damage. They also provide glucosinolates known to help our liver detoxification pathways eliminate daily toxins. Being rich in sulforaphanes they can also aid skin renewal. Adding avocadomakes the smoothie rich and creamy and provides plenty of skin boosting healthy fats. Pineapple is known for its anti-inflammatory properties being a source a bromelain, an enzyme that also aids digestion.

Serves 2
300ml coconut water
2 frozen small bananas chopped
160g chopped pineapple (fresh or frozen)
2 handfuls of baby spinach leaves
100g broccoli florets chopped
1/2 small avocado, chopped
1/4 cucumber chopped
1tbsp ground flaxseed
1 scoop vanilla protein powder, optional
Simply place all the ingredients in a high speed blender and process until smooth and creamy. Add a little more coconut water if the mixture is too thick.
